ive been thinking about it for quite some time now. im 17 years old and a junior in high school and ive already decided to become a marine but my main goal is to become a sniper and eventually an officer. i also have a heart murmur which can disqualify me from being in the marines if i dont get authorized by my doctor. can someone tell me what i need to do to become a sniper?

Snipers are recruited from active duty Marines. There's no guarantee to sign up and become a sniper. Check out MOS 0203 as well, Marine Scout Sniper Plt Cmdr. That's an officer's billet in charge of the Marine snipers.

Also check out Marine Infantry jobs. Those are the ranks from which a great majority of snipers are drawn from.

actually, there was a movie about marine snipers that came out. well two. jarhead and shooter. ive only seen jarhead though. ive always wanted to become a sniper, but i never knew what branch of the military i wanted to go into until i talked to my local recruiter. and jarhead didnt give that great of a view on marine life. haha

Ah, yes. I was specifically warned NOT to see Jarhead, and haven't.

The first thing you have to do is be very proficient at your current MOS. It helps if you’re already in a weapons company. Next you can request to take the INDOC that the STA (Surveillance and Target Acquisition) platoon will hold. I was assigned to 3/6 STA platoon and we held INDOC’s every month, sometimes 3-4 times a month. The other thing you can do is study every aspect of sniping. Being a sniper is not just about being a good shot, you have to make sure you get to your target and then get out without being seen. If you do get in to the STA platoon, hold on because you can go to all kinds of schools like RS (Reconnaissance and Surveillance) school which teaches you about hostage rescue and all sorts of cool shit.
