I can tell these four guys are close. They are all part of a group of five who are on the same guard schedule. When I indicate my assumption that this must be why they are so close, one of them replies, “Ma’am, if anyone of the 50 Marines down here walked into a dark room, I could sniff and tell you who it is.”

These men don’t just share a job . . . they are brothers.

Speaking of this brotherhood and "Semper Fi"...

This article reminds me of the bond my partner and I developed in Mogadishu. He went on to the US Army and picked up Warrant Officer. I continued in the Marines. We didn't see each other for over 14 years. Exchanged emails a couple times of year, but usually stationed or deployed on opposite ends of the globe (though we just missed each other a couple of times). Then, I get a phone call after I sent him an email about moving to AZ. He wants to come out to AZ, can't find a job, could I help? Absolutely. His office is now next to mine and it's like that 14 years never separated us. We're brothers (again).

Good story. See things like this every day even here stateside.
