I am a freshman in high school, in shape (little underweight) and am considering getting a commission and joining the Marine Corp Reserve. Thing is is that I have a 4.0 grade average and my mom wants me to go to college. I want to go anyway and maybe become an engineer but she isn't too fond of the Marines(not them but me joining) I haven't told her of my interest and to ask a question at Marines.com you have to enter an adress and all and I don't really want my mom to know of my interest yet. So here's my question. Could I attend Platoon Leader Course as a colleg junior and then get a commission into the Reserves? When I decide to tell my mom, how should I approach the subject? How should I make her see my way?
