Affects how Recruiting Duty works, some supply MOS, my son's MOS 2800. And my former MOS (among others)--

"The intelligence field — 02, which includes more than 3,100 Marines — picked up the most new MOSs.

In all, five additional jobs are being created in that field for officers and enlisted Marines — tactical debriefer, advanced foreign counterintelligence specialist, military source operations specialist, strategic debriefing specialist and advanced military source operations specialist."

Sounds like the school I teach, which used to be an intermediate/advanced school, will now become an MOS producing school....I wonder how that affects this...since I'm in a joint level school, the USMC doesn't control the curriculum.....guess we'll have to wait and see.

I found this very interesting:
The Corps has decided to narrow its field of 8411 recruiters, omitting corporals, gunnery sergeants, master sergeants, first sergeants and master gunnery sergeants from being eligible for that MOS. That leaves sergeants and staff sergeants to field those jobs.

“We did that at the request of recruiting command,” Webb said. “There’s no reason to have the grade range go up that far. They decided they did not want to have new corporals out there recruiting.”

NOT SALTY ENOUGH and the other end of the spectrum...TOO FRIGGIN SALTY to be a recruiter!

RE: Pay grade range.

Not being a recruiter I had never thought of it, but I guess that makes sense.

Corporal is when a Marine is at his most useful, and recruiting seems to be under the appropriate duties of a senior SNCO.

All true....except there are still combat assignments, i.e. direct interrogation support to infantry and recon units. Which means a male is going to be deployed twice as much as a female. Males get screwed. And promotions-- males will have combat tours and awards, will females be competitive? Don't know how this will work out.....

Aren't ya glad you got out when ya did? Just another group that's gonna rate to wear the BOHICA tag.
