Today is the 229th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps! Rush Limbaugh saluted the Marines on his radio program: "I have to tell you, folks, I am so proud that we have already, on day three, hold 70% of Fallujah. This is happy birthday to the United States Marine Corps as well. The U.S. Marine Corps is older than the country itself. So, Semper Fi to all the Marines. 70% of Fallujah captured. And it will be more soon. Iraqi troops, by the way, Iraqi troops have found the hostage slaughter houses. Hostage slaughter houses in Fallujah where foreign captives were held and killed and beheaded. There is just a tremendous offensive with tremendous success being piled up here as we already roll through Fallujah, and I wanted to start the program mentioning that. There's a lot going on today, and, you know, the reporting coming out of Fallujah has actually been pretty good for the most part. There are some people trying to take potshots at it, and a lot of people saying, "Well, this is six months overdue, should have done it six months ago," that may be true but the fact is we're doing it now and we're succeeding and doing it well. In fact, it seems, ladies and gentlemen, that some newly trained Iraqi soldiers, a lot of them, you know, we've got a ten to 15,000 force, a lot of the forces are Iraqi, and they're helping considerably in Fallujah. And I just have a question. Is this good or is this outsourcing? (Laughing.) Of course I'm being facetious, ladies and gentlemen. (Laughing.) Well, this is what Kerry accused Bush of doing in Afghanistan, outsourcing it and so forth, using Afghan warlords. We're using newly trained Iraqi troops. BREAK TRANSCRIPT Did you see that picture of the GI that they have on the cover of the New York Post today? Smoking a cigarette, the Marlboro man, kicking butt in Fallujah. I so love that picture, and they're showing it on Fox right now. It's made the cover of the New York Post today. It is a soldier with a bloodied bridge of his nose, he's got camouflage gear and makeup on his face, and he's got a Marlboro dangling from his lips and he's kicking butt in Fallujah. And there's no politically correct establishment over there to give him one bit of grief about it. In fact, guess what we just learned? We just learned that a mosque has been blown up. As you know, Fallujah is called the city of mosques in Iraq. You can hardly turn a corner without facing one or being next to one. But all through this period of time we've not hit the mosques because, of course, all the people, "No, you don't want to cause any bad blood over there by destroying these mosques." One of the reasons we didn't is that terrorists were hiding behind innocent civilians in these mosques and basing their operations out of there, but apparently, folks, the political correctness has been cast aside. We're now conducting a war as it should be conducted, we're killing people and breaking things, and we're going to keep doing it till we take this city and wipe this insurgent population in Fallujah out, 70% of it is done, hubba hubba. Again, congratulations to everybody involved in this operation and, again, happy birthday to the Marines, 229 years old today. I didn't mean to interrupt myself, but I saw that picture and I had to comment on that. We'll link it. If you can't find it or don't see it, we'll get a copy of it and put it on our website this afternoon so you can see what I'm talking about. But you're going to go "hubba hubba" yourself when you see this picture. And I imagine that women who see this picture are going to swoon. Single and married women, Dawn, are going to swoon. I mean, that was a man on that cover, in that picture. Damn, that was nice to see. So tired of seeing these Alan Alda types portrayed as the definition of real men in America." |
