My son has finally made a decision (at 20) to "do something". I told him to go USAF. The recruiter turned him off completely (no jobs, no future, very depressing guy). My son currently works part time for the Army; they scare the hell out of him ("scare" as in he doesn't trust them). And the boy has no desire to join the USN. Ships and the jobs on them don't seem to turn him on. So, as he told me "at least with the Marines, I know the guy beside me will be doing his best to watch my back". I couldn't argue with that. He'll be a intel analyst (if he makes it), leaves for Boot in Jan.

Thier loss, our gain! He'll do great with his selection and MOS choice especially seeing how you'll be there for him! San Diego is nice in January!

Yeah, actually several of my friends teach at the 0231 course (when I retired I worked across the hall from them), so....well if he starts screwing up, they'll be a much of SNCO's on his ass.
