hello im new here and i was thinknig about going into the marines and then doing MP. for those who have done it is there anything feedback u can give me? what do u guys do on a day to day basis? and are u more MP on base or in the warzone? and after your contract is up with the marines is it hard to find work after. considering the experience u have got?

Sorry, I guess no MPs around.....I can tell you there are MPs on Marine bases that act as basically street cops and prison guards in the brigs. And in combat their roles change slightly. Yes, in the rear echelon areas they are still basically cops, but up front, they take care of the detainees. They guard and handle the detainees and man detention facilities as your basic prison guard again...but it's a whole new set of rules for detainees. MPs I've seen also act as crowd control elements in riot type situations.....but I was never an MP, so I can't really tell you day-to-day or even if it's a good job. I...did not get along with most MPs, they seemed like miserable pissants to me.
As far as civilian employment-- prison guard or cop seems about it. Though, just like cops, as an MP you can become a detective, and if you rise that far in the military, I'm guessing you could get a civilian detective job as well. |

thanks! does anyone knoiw if its hard to get a job after u get outta the service? can u go to MP after basic training in the marines?
