reports of a chopper crash in the western part of Iraq has left at least 31 Marines dead.

Yep, its all over the UK news channels, plus 4 died in combat, another 4 died in a Bradley Rollover incidnet into a canal.

That's just heartbreaking. I rode on the 53s many times. They are powerful helos, and make quite a ruckus when taking off or landing.

The actual count on the CH-53 was 30 Marines and 1 Navy...
According to last reports, it occured in a sandstorm, and not due to hostile fire. An investigation is currently underway. The Road of Life does not require a map to follow directions. Plan wisely. |
