I need assistance in obtaining Unit Diaries with the 3rd Bn, 26th Marines in Vietnam, 1968-1969. Can anyone tell me how to obtain these records? Thank You and Semper Fi.

Try these POCs:

The Marine Corps Historical Center
Archives Section, Building 58
Washington Navy Yard
Washington, D.C. 20374

Phone number: 202-433-3483

Available here are operations reports, command diaries, command chronologies, and after action reports. The archivists at the Center are most helpful and will photocopy material and mail it to you. They may also refer you to the:

Unit Diary Section Commandant
Marine Corps Records Service Section
Code MMSB-10, Hdq, U.S. Marine Corps
Quantico, VA 22134-5030

The USMC Museum recently acquired some historical collections, including unit diaries from Vietnam.

These people also claim to have some in their archives, but very difficult to use (must use internet explorer). I just use their "submit request" feature because I can never figure out how to find anything.

Art,
While poking around one site that Gunny had posted in Open Discussion, also found this--

Timeline of Khe Sahn actions. 2/6 is referenced in their movements, their CO, casualties, etc. Sounds like he/they might have access to those unit diaries as well.
