As hard as it may be to believe, I've only recently found out that I'm not an American citizen. Apparently it was kept a secret from me because the entire time my mother had been "filing" for me. I've been here as far back as I can remember, since I was about two I guess. Now I've been looking to join the USMC for a while, for allot of reasons. But That's been put to a screeching halt by the recent news, I dunno what to do, and now I feel completly stuck. There has to be a way to join, America is all I know, I've spent all my life here. Is there anything I can do?

Your either legal or your not. Like you said in the current environment of today and the immigration bill that just got squashed, you are indeed in a bad spot. I would place your desire to join the Corps on hold until your official status is ironed out.

Follow the laws of today and you risk deportation. Its a tough call.

That's the best I can do I guess. I've been talking to a few layers and apparently there's some weight in the time that I've been here. There are a whole bunch of legal issues to deal with, but it seems there might be a way to get some sort of legal status.
