Military Salute Video Now Available Online
Military Salute, a free 34-minute Windows-XP CD/DVD honoring America's Armed Forces and American Veterans, is now available in streaming video and also for download. (PRWEB) October 17, 2004 -- A project that began in advance of Veterans Day 2003 by five disabled Vietnam-era veterans to honor fallen buddies is now one-year-old and recently distributed the 10,000th copy. After assembling the video, Jeff Seeber of Woodbury, MN gave copies to four friends he met at the Minneapolis (MN) Veterans Affairs Medical Center. They volunteered to help distribute "Military Salute" and the group has been giving away free CDs, including mailing costs, ever since. They do not accept donations from individuals. In April, 2004 the group launched a web site at http://condocat.home.att.net and the volume of requests skyrocketed. Shortly after Memorial Day, they were forced to stop sending copies to anyone who asked and limit distribution to qualifying organizations because of the physical and financial strain. Two months later, the American Veterans of the War in Iraq & Afghanistan offered to provide free downloads to groups and also a streaming video version of "Military Salute" that would be available to everyone from their web site at http://www.avwia.com. Active-duty military units, veterans groups, military support organizations and numerous individuals are now making copies and distributing them, as well. "This project was originally intended to honor a U.S. Navy FMF Corpsman and two U.S. Marines who died before their twentieth birthdays while serving their country. It evolved into a salute to all veterans, those who care for the injured and wounded, the victims of 09/11 and especially the wonderful men and women currently serving in America's Armed Forces. Maybe the most heart-warming aspect of all is that five Vietnam-era veterans wound up being able to work with the newest generation of American veterans.", Seeber said. The "Military Salute" project celebrated its first anniversary by sending copies to all 122 Veterans Homes and Veterans Nursing Homes in the United States. But rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, WOW....what a ride!" |
