HEADLINE “VETS: VA MAY OWE YOU”
“Vets to be warned of the VA disparity” “..4 million will be notified disability payments in their states are low…The letters outreach to veterans in six states…nearly double the 2.4 million disabled veterans nationwide who currently receive disability…Senator Barack Obama, who along with Senator Dick Durbin introduced legislation requiring the letters into a military and veteran appropriations bill which passed the House and Senate on Friday……Illinois veterans,…Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey and Connecticut have received well-below-average disability payments….Obama said he expected the letters to go out “promptly” as soon as the VA can draft a letter. A VA spokesman said he hasn’t seen the legislation and couldn’t comment.”
