I'm a medic in the New Zealand Army - currently doing my intermediate training.

While our training is top notch and we have a decent variety of equipment available to us there seems to a lack of practical medical experience in our armed forces (Mainly because the combat we see if far and few between).

One of the things I was hoping to find out from any of the currently (or recently) deployed medics is what sort of equipment and meds do you carry with you in your pack?

So, for your trauma kit what would you have?

I'm not sure if you guys do it different over there but as a medic we not only have to fill the Emergency care role but also have to diagnose and treat common illnesses and we have to apply preventative medicine (water testing, spraying for mosquitos, etc.).

So if you were out for a month on a deployment as a platoon medic what would you have in your pack?
