hey, lately ive been seriously considering joining military in the near future. most likely the marines or the army.
my vision is very slightly impared, i have a little trouble focusing on far away things, i have a glasses prescription which i havent used yet cuz it doesnt affect me on a day to do basis and the eye doctor said that wearing glasses will not prevent any advancing of the condition or whatever it is. ive seen pictures and videos of soldiers in iraq and afganistan, and it seems that most of them wear sunglasses or some type of goggles. what is the norm for someone with my condition to wear in a combat situation, do they have protective goggles which can be made to correct vision, or it is typical to wear contacts under goggles? i searched glasses and eyesight on this forum and got no results so i figured id start up a topic |

Most of your leading manufactures of military tactical eyewear goggles come with rx inserts. Tactical Warfighter Gear is stocking them next month.

Most of the gear comes with GOVERNMENT ISSUE inserts. Don't go buying crap before trying the government issue (free) stuff. Your eyesight does not seem to be that bad, you shouldn't worry too much about it.
