PAC RES GRU - Pacific Research Group Inc dba GruntWorkx R&D. A Burnaby BC Canada based R&D firm specializing in modular sleep systems and accessories, and modular individual component systems.

US and Canadian Veteran owned and operated.

Our goal is to bring our products to the attention of the powers that be (purchasing) for both US and Canadian military based upon the merits of the product. We tried going in the front door, now we're trying the back. Canadian problem - not enough people at DL 5-4 to run a Beta project. US problem - Berry Amendment. Your assistance would be most deeply appreciated.

Part 1: BETA TEST

Open to Canadian or US Military personnel on Active Duty, Reserve, Militia, or Guard.

The Beta program is a two-year program that will require the participants to submit at least one Data Response Form (DRF) per month for two years.

Upon completion of the Beta, the product will be yours to keep and a certificate proving it will be issued in your name. No strings attached.

On AUG 15 2006, we will have of 12 units available to US personnel for the Beta, 6 in Desert Pattern, 6 in Woodland pattern. A1M and A2M. Complete.

Units will be shipped to selected participants at our expense. Each time you use a unit you will be required to submit a Data Response Form to us. As long as you do so, you will maintain the unit.

To apply for the Beta, please email me at beta@pacresgru.com

PART 2: Try-Before-You-Buy Program

Open to Canadian or US Military personnel on Active Duty, Reserve, Militia, or Guard.

The Try-Before-You-Buy program, in a nutshell, is a 30-day evaluation period. Try it out. Like it, Buy it. Don't like it, ship it back. Simple.

Prepayment is required, but your payment will not be processed until you tell us whether you are buying or not.

If not, payment process will not be done and your voided cheque or cc information will be returned to you. Additional information is in the pdf.

To receive the TBYB pdf application form, please email me at tbyb@pacresgru.com

ADDITIONAL PRODUCT INFORMATION:

Pricing: The A1M has a direct (suggested) sale price of CAD$1,004.86 and USD$874.43 however .... for the duration of the TBYB program the price for the A1M will be CAD$879.25 and USD$765.13

The A2M has a direct (suggested) sale price of CAD$1,087.84 and USD$946.64 however ....
for the duration of the TBYB program the price for the A2M will be CAD$951.86 and USD$828.31

Expensive, yes. What does that get you?

A1M or A2M shelter. Fully enclosable, tri-vented (port and starboard side vents plus a formable outer door vent cover), removable doors, thermal reflective (360'), 100% windproof, 100% waterprooof, moisture vapour breathable, fully MILSPEC package; exterior fabric is ECWCS Taslite.

Inflatable air frame with a 60 durometer neoprene air tube (60 durometer means the wall thickness is double that of a butyl tube making it near puncture proof) with injected air setup time of 1.8 seconds.

The tube, like the doors can be zipped out. All zips are #5 YKK Coil with either reversible or double pulls. They're gated, so they work just like a jacket zipper - so in the winter you can zip out and store the inner mesh door (made out of IRF Inherent Polyester Mesh - it won't burn, or worse, melt).

StuffSack. Actually, it's a dual compression sack, but calling it a "CS", might not be a good idea.

Folding and rolling the A1 or A2M is an easy 6-step process. Once forld, insert it into the StuffSack, add in the PanelAccessory draw down to compress length, and pull out to reduce girth.

Like the A1 and A2M, the StuffSack is fully seam taped. If you need to, you can turn it inside out and use it to carry or store water.

The StuffSack also has an inside flap pocket for whatever you want to place in there. Comes with dual format carry strap.

PanelAccessory. A fold out snap out panel designed for the Crank Brothers dual action manual pump, the Genuine Innovations C02 injector, three 12 or 16 gram C02 cartridges, the breather (inflation) tube, the fabric repair kit and the tube deflator/valve extractor tool and the user manual.

Room left over for items you wish to add - WO Del Badiuk with the 407th THS in Edmonton AB has been beta testing an A1M since last spring and finds the extra space in the PA perfect for his shaving gear.

A1M AttachPack (now you know why we call the Accessory Panel the PanelAccessory - AP, PA) We're working on one for the A2M.

The AP is a collasible, expandable vaccuum pack that allows you to store an A1M with a P10 bag inside and attach it to your crew or tactical vest.

When compressed, the pack has a thickness of no more 2.5 inches. When expanded it is 6 inches deep and comes with convertable harness straps, multiple attachment points (every body seems to have a slightly different vest these days) carry strap and carry handle.

Synthetic Group. Consisting of the P30 blanket (similar to the Ranger blanket, but bigger), P10 sleeping bag and M20 sleeping bag. (P30, P10 and M20 are Celsius temperature ratings).

All are lined with 3M Thinsulate G, 100 gram, 150 gram, and 200 gram respectively. The P10 alone will keep you and the interior of your sleep system warm to -20C. Outer fabric is Linebacker Nylon, Inner is Worldclass polyester.

At no time, when using this product, should you ever have to wear your arctic clothing to maintain body warmth and sleep at least 8 hours.

Using one bag or the blanket under the bag you wish to sleep in will negate the need for a mattress (however if you want to use a mattress, okay with us - as long as you place it under the unit itself).

A1M, A2M, SS, PA and AP are stitched with Polyfast Layflat Monocord. 24lb burst strength.

Weight. The A1M weighs less than 7 pounds. The A2M less than 10 pounds.

Also in the Fall of 2006 - we will release the TALON Grapple-peg. Everyone knows that there are places on this rock where a peg won't ... peg. Hence the TALON. More info to follow in JUN 06.
