I am 16 and I wish to join the USCG under the DEP. I was told that I had asthma when I was 14. I was medicated until I turned 15. Is it possible for me to get a waiver? I am in good physical condition and can perform all required PT. I am not on any medication. I want to enter then become a medic aboard cutters or other types of ships.

Should not be an issue. "Childhood" asthma (even though yours was in the teens) is a fairly common waiver-- as long as you don't have any recurring episodes between now and when you join.

I haven't had any problems since I went off medication. Thanks for your reply.
