Regarding the manpower and funding for operations and hardware needed for national security?

When you hear some of the Admiral's testify, they state manpower has increased quite a bit. And then you hear some politicians state that their current funding request was cut quite a bit. So where does the CG stand overall?

Are their ships and boats all getting long in the teeth, adequate for the job? Need a lot more in all categories? Curious.

I know they're not hiring right now....

I went into Coast Guard web site and read all of the allownces for 2001 -2005 the only place the President has reduced was the Deep Water project they had put forth Billions of Dollars esp for Inspectors. John Kerry ,Hillary Clinton has always been the ones that have made all of the Military cuts or at least blocked or attemted to especialy the Navy.This year it may be diffrent because the Dems. are trying to take the Military vote for next election.
