Gotta feel for this guy. Seeing as many combat tours as I did over 15 years....he's only been in for seven. Looks like rppearso is right about one thing, this war is stressing out our NG and Reserves.

Reservist fighting his fifth war call-up
After serving in Afghanistan and three times in Iraq, an Army Reserve sergeant from Port St. Lucie recoiled at still another deployment.

Erik Botta is an Army Reservist who has done four combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is now being called for a fifth tour.

Erik Botta believes he's done right by his country.

Days after 9/11, as a young Army reservist, he volunteered to go to war. He was soon in Afghanistan.

The next year, he was sent out again, this time to Iraq, part of a Special Operations team.

In the next two years, he was sent to Iraq again. And again.

He thought he was done. But now, the Army wants Sgt. Botta one more time.

The 26-year-old Port St. Lucie man has been ordered to report to Fort Jackson, S.C., on July 15 for his fifth deployment. And that has compelled Botta, a first-generation American who counts himself a quiet patriot, to do something he never thought he'd do: sue the Army.

While I may 'feel' for him, he is still wearing the uniform, and drawing pay. He made some assumptions that he shouldn't have made. What alot of folks don't realise, is that Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and yeah even Airmen are all resources cut and dried. Reservists aren't any different. Wars use resources at a phenominal rate.

I never had an option to not go when called, why is he any different? Where is it written that back to back or repeated deployments to combat zone won't occur? It isn't even an unwritten rule that I know of.

I wish him the best of luck, but I think his case will not gain him any satisfaction.

My Grandson was picked up as Reserve and sent back for his Fourth in the sand box. He ask my advice but he never one time mentioned Sue the US Army.I think these Civilan Lawyers are making it worse on our Military.My Grandson's Father-inlaw mentioned hire a Lawyer and Sue I told him to shut to F up . Family is supposed to support but not give them advice because if they have been in Hell they damm sure have earned the right to speak for themselves.
