Is that what people are who seek out alternatives?
This is the impression I got from reading 5pak's thread over at P/CP.... Seems some of us are 'cowards' and lack the fortitude to raise issues at the Point. It also seems from reading that this site consists of the 'chaff' ejected from that place, losers, whiners and complainers. Well.....to this lad, it seems better to raise some issues elsewhere rather than buck the 'tide', as it were. Rather than muck with that place and make it worse for the good people who stay and participate in a site of their choosing and free will, is it NOT better to take issues elsewhere? I think so. I don't consider myself a coward for leaving and discussing why here. If this brands me riff-raff or a whiner...so fuc.king be it! |

What I've seen is the lack of fair Moderation practices. The moderators do not want to 'debate', they just want to be right. And if their clique goes against a poster, he is silenced. Even when the alleged offender has proven facts, articles, and evidence to prove their point of view. They are electronically disarmed, bound, gagged, and attacked by the 'righteous'. In comparison, it is the same as disarming, binding, and beheading someone with whom your views are different.
And no, I do not think they can handle the Sooth. ----------------------------------------------- Everyday I wake up breathing, is a good day. |

There's a buttload of hypocrisy going on...that's for sure.
I think people are seriously delusional if they think P/CP isn't stagnating! I don't mind the bantering threads about personal issues...but P/CP is the wrong place for it. That internet flirting thing is almost Yahoo.groupish...and that's ok, but just not in a debate forum. I've watched a lot of good people leave because of this, uneven Moderation, trolls and spammers, and technical issues. It's going downhill but there seems to be a state of denial there. |

I'm neither a loser or a looney. Just someone who knows that crossdecking before the ship goes down is a good thing.

Mil.com was my 1st online forum, and at first i was greeted by most with welcoming arms, but one mod in praticular treated me with disrespect, rudeness, and total arrogance because i dare disagree with him, about my first hand knowledge and experience. I have done the bidding of both UK & US gov wishes for many years, i have served both with pride and honour. Then this high handed, holier than thou individual plays god. Not on and not called for. If he is an example of what the US mil produces as officers, then i can honestly say, God help you. I have worked with some of the best, on both sides of the pond, and belive me this particular indivual rates as the bottom of the pond.
I'll still post on mil.co. because there are some good people out there, but i feel they are playing, cow tou to a certain upper highrachy. This is a world where freedom has been purchased with the blood and lives of many good people. So why in cyber space do some people who claim to be serving, or former serving members of an elite force, become so closed minded, and full of hypocrisy, and allow intimidation and bullying. I hope that this forum grows with freedom and potential, where personal attacks stop, and indivuals are respected, as well as what they stand for and believe. Hearts and minds are won in real life on he ground, and so can they be on the internet. Behave as you would do in front of those that would look upon you and judge you. Train Hard, Fight Easy. |

Mike....said individual is NOT representative of the fine Officer Corps of the US Military. But like anything else, every group of people has folks from all over the spectrum.

HAL i agree, people are people, no matter from what walks of life. Dosen't it feel good to talk openly and with total freedom. Its what we are fighting for all over this planet.

The way i have always thought of a forum is this. If we all met up in a bar, pub or whatever, how would we act, talk, or interact with each other. I think that your behaviour in that scenario would pave a good guideline to how to behave, talk and act within a forum. What do you think?

Every group has representatives from all over the spectrum as long as the ones in power of that group, particularly if it is an online group, isn't one who abuses and misuses said power.
Honestly, I never used 'Rhino's couch' as much as perhaps I should have, because I have the feeling that although I would have disagreed with some posts, at least Linux would have been an honest enough person to have allowed me to have had disagreements with him without getting personal about it or without banning me. I sincerely hope he posts here and that his site gets reestablished. um...and I'm not a 'trollhunter' ..but can't help wondering if norm wabbit was the one who hacked it and fugged it up..but thats just me. |
