Sorry Amvet: That's about the best rant an old geezer can get going. I found that if you rant too hard you run out of words and then what are you going to say?

OldAFCop...Hell, I'm anti-Draft!!! 16 years ago, we had one HELL of an all-volunteer Military, MUCH larger than today! WHY would anyone think that we cannot rebuild that force, IF needed, without resorting to physically FORCING folks to join the Military???
AmVet makes her "pitch" for a Draft, BUT with, uh "necessary" exemptions...
Don't yall remember how the so-called "anti-war" demonstrations in our Country fizzled once the announcement of the DRAFT dying came about??? Then, the ONLY ones left to protest were the seriously anti-American-protesting, PRO-NVA/VC, hippy-Pinko, COMMIE FAGS!!!
Nuff said bout dat shit!

Yogi you were a friggin draft dodger. You went off and joined up on your own. Now what does that say about you? Let's see, um, a true patriot? Someone with courage? And you made it home. The best of the best, IMHO.

Yogi, remember if you can go back that far LOL what did the CO's do when they did not go to nam? I am not talking about commanders. I am talking about con. objectors. I seem to remember that they were given work as hospital aid workers but they did do some federal work as CO's. May be wrong but don't think so.
excuse the spelling.

CoachMan...I'm not sure what the CO's did since Nam, BUT, I have several gotten to meet COs who served as MEDICS, out in the muck/blood and tears with Grunts in Nam!!! No, they didn't fire a weapon, BUT they damned sure served honorably.
Methinks this Republic of ours has ALWAYS had a place for COs and ALWAYS WILL!
