This morning, I attended the weekly Bend Band of Brothers breakfast at Jake's Truck stop, as I tend to do every Monday morning. It was my honor to join Bob Maxwell in celebrating his 92nd birthday this morning. I've had the pleasure and honor in talking with Bob briefly in the past, but today I sat and talked with Bob, his wife Beatrice, and their daughter, for half an hour. I asked Bob if he would put on his MOH for me to take a picture of him and his wife, and he graciously obliged.

Technician Fifth Grade Robert D. Maxwell was awarded 2 Silver Stars and the Medal of Honor for his bravery during WWII. Story and citation here.

Happy Birthday Bob!!! Big Grin

Harder

P.S. Bob Maxwell and I are both members of the "Bend Band of Brothers", are there more groups forming in other cities for veterans to reach out to our returning vet's? Have other groups blended the veterans from all the branches and generations?
