General  Registered: 24 January 2005 Posts: 5559 | posted Meaningless act Not sure about the rest of you out there, but I feel these guy's are misrepresenting both the meaning of each medal and how they received these medals. The news articles quotes a member of this demonstration with a comment about these being medals for heroism. Nothing could be further from the truth. These medals they tossed over the fence were only campaign medals that rank lower than the Nation Defense Service (fire-watch) medal. The NATO medal is earned while participating in a NATO lead operation. Again, even the NDSM takes precedence over it. NONE of those medals have ANYTHING associated with acts of heroism.
