So linux is banned, for stating his mind, and other certain peolpe, who have been exposed as liars, cheats, imposters, posers, are still allowed, afetr they have dishonuored not only themeselves, but every other vet.
I ask you all, which ones do you find most offensive. I think that says it all. In MHO, Mods should be impartial, fair, and make sure rules are adhered to without bias, or personal feelings, if they want to earn any respect and credability. I have enjoyed this forum, but i feel that is being strangled even before it reaches its full potential, and that is a great pity. This forum is a viable and potentially great forum to build up to something way beyond what it already is. I would be proud to be a moderator, but if i accepetd such a posistion, i could not, and would not abuse my posistion. Like i have said in previuos threads, and in many team meetings: You can always tell a persons true character by doing one of 2 thngs: 1: Put that pesrson under extreme pressure, or 2: Give that person power, Thne you will see the true person emerge, for the better, or the worse. So if any one reads this you has the decsison to recruit me as a moderator, then i would proudly, and willingly voluneteer. MODS should lead by example, just like good officers and men in the field. Well said Mike.
I can never be a Moderator....or not a good one. I'm too confrontational. I would rather not. But I think you would be a good one. |

I would like to see Hal and Mike 60 as moderators. I think Mike would be fair in part because he is probably not as deeply involved in US politics as many of us are (I am guessing he lives in the UK)and Hal because I he think can take and give much craap without getting upset and threatening to ban folks, of course Hal being a republican is often wrong in his facts but nobody is perfect.
I will not be around here long if they are going to start banning people like they did on mildotcom. I too have alot of hopes pinned on this site. But hell maybe I should lower my expectations as the saying goes "expectations are only pre-meditated resentments". |

R36, my libertarian streak is coming out more and more.
I'm really a political moderate. Always was. But being a moderate doesnt work in certain places. Sorry. I will not moderate on a site that bans friends of mine on technicalities of a very restrictive new TOU....nor people with a differing opinion than my own or anyone elses. Hal you say you are too confrontational to be a mod I have no issue with confrontation. What gets my goat up are those mods who ban people mainly because of personality differences. Some people are way to sensitive and take things to personally to be moderators.

Honestly, I don't see how that is truly possible. It appears to me that bad habits (or good) are hard to discard. It seems pretty convenient that one has enough access to literally re-write a board's TOU. Granted, there was stuff that went way too far for me, but guess what?? I just backed out of the thread. Geeze, how easy was that?? As far as profanity, etc, I could GAF. Allegations are merely that, allegations. Of course, if a member cares to post their personal garbage in public view, they get what they asked for, questions, ridicule, chastisement, etc., or in some rare cases, even well meant sympathy. All in all, attention seekers are just that and either positive or negative attention usually suffices for them. Basic psychology 101 !!
