Good Evening! Thought I'd give a nice greeting before pissing you off.....

Parents Sue Over Use of Slain Soldier's Name on Anti-War Shirts

Thursday, April 24, 2008

PHOENIX — The parents of a Tennessee soldier killed in Iraq are suing an Arizona online merchant who included their son's name on anti-war shirts that list names of troops killed in the war.

The lawsuit filed by Robin and Michael Read of Greeneville, Tenn., accuses Dan Frazier of Flagstaff of intentionally inflicting emotional harm by including Spc. Brandon Michael Read's name on casualty lists printed on "Bush lied — They died" T-shirts without permission and by ignoring a demand to remove their son's name.

The suit seeks $10 million in compensatory and punitive damages. It also asks that Frazier be permanently barred from using Brandon Read's name.

How stuipid is this law suit and how mindless can people be, the t shirt states the truth and there son did die so what exactly are they suing over there is not libal issue. These parents are just idiots. 10 million $ are they smoking crack.

Well, my dietary challenged friend; the difference is that a memorial wall respects those who died in the name of their country, while Patoloco's article relates to some jackass who used the name of a soldier for commercial purposes, without consent from his immediate family.

The guy's using their name to support a cause that they would quite likely NOT support, and he's making money from it (you're probably too daft to know that they don't make money from memorial walls).

Now, please stop asking "reteardo" questions.

I'm gonna regret this, but I'll entertain retardo's issue seriously....

Let's say your son was killed in a drunk driving incident (he was drunk) and I put his name on a t-shirt underneath the caption "Irresponsible Sh!theads". Is that wrong? Can you sue me? Would you win?

Nope, because there is no libel involved. People are way to sue happy these days. Can someone sue because they dont like there name going on a public sex offenders list. Frivolous law suits are costing this nation big time and this is just another example.

Im sure he is riding the money train to live right next door to bill gates what the hell is 10$-15$ for a tee shirt that would cover the cost of the shirt the graphics and his time to make it I doubt he is rolling in the dough. Emotional harm give me a break, thats equivalent to the hot coffee suit with mcdonalds. If you support this suit your an idiot and ought to have your rights to vote restricted.

Now you want to take away peoples rights because you disagree with this ass not respecting the wishes of the relatives after being asked?

Pick a side and stick to it.

It is very sorry that people profit off the dead troops and it should never be allowed to get this far. I can say my son has never served one day in the service and that was his choice but I can imagine what I would feel if he had given his life in the service and someone had tried to profit from it. Shameful.

Count it the greatest sin to prefer life to honor, and for the sake of living to lose what makes it worth living.

Do you treat your son like me becasue he does not want to be in the military, I can see there being friction with you being a staunch military member and him being a civilian, I dont see that working very well. I hope you at least treat him like a human being.
