That surprises me about having an old style Soviet parade. If I remember right, they kept the parade vehicles in storage just for the parades. I remember a study of the missile carriers showing the missiles were empty shells. The carriers were not depressed on their shocks enough. Try having a parade like that here, the nuts would be protesting across the country like never before. The rest of the world would be shouting about US imperialists.

Gotta remember that during WWII, 9 million Red Army soldiers are estimated to have died. I'd say that gives them the right to run a parade like this every anniversary.

Very True, but the Soviets went all out using it as a propaganda tool. I started out training for a fight against them in the Army Security Agency. They are gone and so is ASA, I'll call it a good trade. |
