Hello Bear! I could not get on the other site this morning. I wanted to send the new poster a link to my website. There are several articles he needs to read regarding PTSD and PGW illnesses. The veteran going to the Vet Center is a step in the right direction; however it needs to be reinforced, the veteran needs to see a veterans organization representative. Smiler

Hi RV & Dave!!!

It's Sunday morning here in NC and although it's in the 70's, it's foggy and rainy. Totally odd and figures that's the weekend. AlphaDog and I spent yesterday cleaning up around the 3/4 acre yard and woods.

There is really something therapeutic in gathering up all the downed tree limbs, snapping 'em into pieces and burning them, lololol. It's sorta like having a day long campfire and I really enjoyed it.

I know that one of the tricks of dealing with PTSD in our lives is to get OUTSIDE in the fresh air for at least an half hour daily.

Now that the weather is warming up, I'm doing that every day. Lots of leaves to rake, gardens to weed and wood to burn and geez....I'm so out of shape that I groan a lot too, he he he.

We have had some really sad news here. About a week ago, our next door neighbor's hubby had a terrible pain in his stomach and was vomiting really badly. On Monday, they went to the doc and by Mon. evening he was in the hospital, operated on Tues. a.m., and found to be riddled with colon cancer.

He also had diabetes and was running a fever...infection....when they operated. Well, just three days later, on Friday, he died of massive infection in the ICU.

It certainly has made Bob and I realize just how precious time with our loved ones and friends is. You just never know, do you!!!???!!!

So, I want to let you all know that your support, encouragement, friendship, healing touch in my life has been worth more than any pile of gold.

I feel that way about Mikey and Dave too.

I so pray that as time goes by, that we can reach those on this site that so need the blessings we have found in bonding with others who walk the PTSD walk. It's so tough when you try to walk it alone.

Take Care today and know you are so cared about, my heroes,

MOM salute

p.s. Mikey, we need an emoticon with the British flag just for you, lolololol !!!!

Morning Friends. Found my way back OK. Dave, or someone, try to get through to that new poster that the Emergency Room approach might work if he's feeling as bad as he says.

But then he said the VA is an hour away and he doesn't want to be "locked up" or kept there. I don't think he's really making the commitment yet to get healthy. Me I would've taken locked up in a minute to end the stress and anxiety Iwas going through in 1998 when I first went for PTSD treatment at the VA.

Thanks to that treatment, and groups like this, things get better almost all the time. Now instead of 30 lousy days a month, I may have one bad day and a lot of good time. It sure is an improvement.

Good luck here...I can only guess why you're all over here

Hey Guys,
I just now found this forum after reading Mike's post on mil.com's PTSD "Open Discussion" forum. It's good to "see" some familiar faces! My prayers are with you all in this new effort at reaching folks with PTSD.

I tried editing my profile to put "preachermedic" as my identifier but for some reason it didn't "take" or I didn't do it right. LOL.

SmilerHi everyone! I found my back to this forum. Sometimes with having PTSD i get confused. The DRS. said during my pre-op for my dental surgery that they are concerned about my heart condition and asked me four times if I ever had a stroke! If I did I don't remember! I am getting ready to write the court a letter to try get Mary Ellen's rights back and rid of the guardianship. I love the warmer weather! Oh, talking about a British flag for you Mike check out all the Smileys on Smileys.com. I added it to my screen for free! camo Sally

SmilerHi everyone ! Mary Ellen spent today with us to get away from the adult family home( sressful). Her and I made some cholocate chip cookies. Dave: If you get a bunch of hate emails do not be surprised, I just read an email on an all women veteran website that I am on and they wanted your email. I did not respond! These angery females do not even know you! Basicaly the women on the site hate men, the VA and refuse to go thru a VSO for filing a claim but yet they want the money from the VA. Bye for now, Sally
