What is the military cultural take on PTSD, I get military veterans that tell me its a bunch or crap and others that view it as a lagit condition, its really unfortunate that so many even in the military still view PTSD as not a lagit disability or injury.

Its also important to realize that PTSD does not just happen to people in combat, I believe I experenced a form of PTSD just from basic.

If you got PTSD from basic, what the hell do you think the DI's got from you?

For the love of jeebus--

LEGIT-imate

le·git·i·mate

1 a: lawfully begotten; specifically : born in wedlock b: having full filial rights and obligations by birth <a legitimate child>2: being exactly as purposed : neither spurious nor false <a legitimate grievance> <a legitimate practitioner>3 a: accordant with law or with established legal forms and requirements <a legitimate government> b: ruling by or based on the strict principle of hereditary right <a legitimate king>4: conforming to recognized principles or accepted rules and standards <a legitimate advertising expenditure> <a legitimate inference>5: relating to plays acted by professional actors but not including revues, burlesque, or some forms of musical comedy <the legitimate theater>

AND--

post-traumatic stress syndrome emotional condition that sometimes follows a traumatic event, particularly an event that involves actual or threatened death or serious bodily injury to oneself or others and that creates intense feelings of fear, helplessness, or horror. The symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder include the re-experiencing of the trauma either through upsetting thoughts…

--the "actual or threatened death or serious bodily injury" is where many people will find that Basic Training is a....suspicious claim of PTSD. Everyone I know of considers PTSD a LEGIT medical condition.

You cant rebuttal it other than to make a flame? thats sad. What just because you don't like Michael moore, whatever. People kept saying Fahrenheit 911 was crap but when I watched it, it was pretty spot on. People who were never in the military jumped on to the ban wagon and the staunch military member hated it because it showed the military's dirty laundry. People would not be able to say things against the military if they did not act with such dishonor.

God help the English language when you are using it. Since you lack any moral or ethical spine -- how can you determine any degree of honor?
