Best person to ask is a Recruiter. Waivers are available...depending on your RE Code.

How do I look for the RE code and where?
Is that some kind a special waiver or form? I just want the right type of waiver in case they don't know. |

It is on your separation papers (DD214).

Recruiters can grant waivers for things like drug use. There's no special form or anything you need to do to get the waiver other than talking with the recruiter (who will fill out the forms with you). The RE Code (reenlistment code-- it is a recommendation on whether you should be considered for reenlistment at a later time-- exactly what you're doing now)-- it can determine whether a recruiter can/will deal with you and it should appear on your DD214.
DD214 Example-- http://dd214.us/images/dd214-sample-form-lg.jpg Look at Block 15 RE Codes http://www.city-data.com/forum...y-coded-codes-re.pdf |

I do not know about any other branch, however "any" PS that has a use of illegal substance discharge cannot even request a waiver.
NON WAIVERABLE USA. AR 601-210 page 56 Paragraph 4-25 "0" Retired Dec 2008 I am also a "Ring" recruiter. If you have recruiting questions just ask, I will help you as much as possible. |

Anyone notice the use of 'hemp' in his user account name in here. Odds are his discharge was well justified the first time around.
Probably lit his bong with his DD-214! SEMPER FI The Gunny PROUD TO BE AN INFIDEL America is not at war. The Marines are at war, America is at the mall. |

Your re-enlistment is 'up in smoke'.
or maybe mirrors aufklarer's post in 'active duty' thread and his link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7360157.stm This message has been edited. Last edited by: Weatherman1956, |

Hempas, since the economy has turned around so dramatically to the bad, young Americans all of sudden have become very patriotic and want to join the military in huge numbers to fight the war against terrorism. That is indeed very noble. But for you that means the military has their pick of the best. And I heard the time for waivers for anything is over.
