Once we have experienced something we should no longer fear it, I look at death the same way. |

I've had a cross cultural venture.
My enlightenment with the Regular 'All Volunteer Army' was a 'hurry up and wait' experience (I was an Army of Uno!) which was well recieved out at the Redstone Arsnel and over on White Sands Missle Range. I aimed high with the Air Force World Police...and got 'skyed out' (so to speak) where everyday I helped prepare our Country for 'nukulair war toe-to-toe with the Ruskies' (the balloon still hasn't 'gone up') Ahh for that old time feeling of Cold War security as SAC's motto is 'Peace is our Profession'... My enlistment with the Texas Air National Guard was the most fun. Combined the best of both worlds...and I got flight time in our C-130 tour plane. The training and experiences landed me a marketable trade and a life of shift work loosing sleep while saving lives and property and occassionally saving the universe (not saving money...anyway 'What's money got to do with it?' except for paying the fiddler) My assignment as a civilian working with the Navy at the Millington Navel Air Station got me into the best Navy Coffee Mess...ummm smell that fresh brew. That Gedunk featured hot Czech Kolaches... and the best cup of joe outside of a cold wet bivoac (better than MegaBucks and lower prices too). Out here in Gawd's Country...the Texas Veterans Board has what the Legislature called 'The Hazelwood Act'...which provides tuition for a full 4 year program. I'm cross training from meteorology into business and Female gyneclolgical medical pelvis exams and acupuncture...as a sort of biometeorology (observing the morning dew) This message has been edited. Jeremy-The-(Martyr)
As far as a word of advice... You might think of changing your login/call sign ...that 'Martyr' monkier sounds nobel but somewhat like shipping out with a 'Jonas' (it might spook yer mates) And remember yer PT...start now with the push-ups...running and situps...pullups and horizontal ladder. |
