Welcome to the website. We have a few Sailors in here that may be able to point you in the right direction. From the other post I gather that your son signed up for MM in subs but really wanted to be a NAVTY SEAL but was unable to pass the swim qualifications.

Getting into the submarine force is a big deal in the Navy. Those folks are the Elite of the Navy. Submariners are a breed apart. (they eat way better than regular Navy too!)

I chose the navy because it's pretty cool to me traveling on a ship around the world. I do believe ships nowadays have everything I need to keep my sanity... like a gym and computer connections. And now females the only thing missing would be booze O_o

Sup Guys I guess Ill get straight to it... Hi Im David, Im joined in March 03, 2006 and was supposed to ship out to Boot in Paris Island in Jan of 06... I had a wreck and that destroyed the left side of my body... Which sucks cause I wanted to be a Marine so badly I had trained for it for Years, Due to all the titanium in my body They say after 2 years Ill get reevaluated and Even If Im at my Peak of Physical shape (which im pushing for everyday) I only have a 5% chance of getting... Being a US Marine Was my dream, it was my Life ever since I Found my parents 'Green Monster' Manual when I was 13. Uh Im currently a PFC ( OH YEAH PFC BEFORE BOOT CAMP OO RAH! ) And Im looking to put everything ive got into making my dream a reality... It was... a hard kick in the gut for someone to tell you that you werent gonna walk again...

They said Id be in a wheel-chair for 6 months... 4 days after that was said they sent me home cause I started pushing myself to walk around the hospital.. Im good now, Running even though 1 of my arms is bigger than the other ( Due to the wreck, I broke my entire left arm ) I just thank god Im alive and if its his will Then Hell allow me to have this moment of pride as I try to serve this BAD ASS country. I think I over did my introduction but there it is... Um Yeah ... Thats it I guess.

Welcome to the site. Sounds like your well on your way to full recovery from the accident. Never having been in your position, its hard to imagine what your going through, so I'll just say keep the faith and god willing, you'll get where you want to go in life. Remember, doctors give opinions based on statistics, you however, are the ultimate factor that they can never account for with any certainty.
