I have a question here. What happens when we all get to 1000 posts? Do we all become Presidents of our own countries or something? I don't know how many of you remember how easy it was to attain 1000 posts on mil.com, but if we all eventually become Generals...who's in charge? After five star General, do we become Lord Marshals, or some other fancy title?

Why our man TOW of course!!

I know what you mean though. I had planned on talking to TOW about that to see if he might up the post count for the karma. What do you guys think the last title should be set at, post count wise?? 10,000?? That would make "the few, the proud" wouldn't it? Confused

There are guys over on mil.com with over 18,000 posts. What happens after someone gets to that point? Do they attain some exhalted God status where no one can touch them. Do they become all knowing, omnipitent and so on?

I'm not trying to stir the pot here, but realistically how many Generals can one board handle? As far as the highest title, why not...The Untouchables?

You know, I don't really enjoy being a Basic Trainee forever, but if it's going to be on a rank structure, why not have it where 50 posts get you up to Private and out of Basic Training? It isn't that the rank structure is wrong, but I think the numbers are wrong between promotions. Hell, I've only been on here for a couple of days and I'm already a Corporal.

Maybe make promotion to PFC after 200 posts. Corporal after 500. Sgt. after 1000. Sergeant after 2500.

I mean, make the ranks something you have to work for. Not to knock Abn_Dad, but he has less than 100 posts and he's already a Sergeant Major. He registered on 20 November and he's already that high in rank? Not picking on you Neal, but I think the numbers are just a little too unreal for promotion. SGreen84 is already a Captain and only has 150 posts. The promotion scale is just off. You should have to have 10,000 or more before you even get to the Officer ranks. General should be something that is almost impossible to attain.

Well once they get to that point then they have conquered the karma scale, but that's about it. I have seen a few people at mil.com with over 18,000, but there isn't many is there??

As far as attaining some "exhalted God status" after reaching that point is a no go. We are going to try and crack down on that. IMO, that happens over at that other place, and they seem to run all over the boards thanks to their post count. Everyone is going to be treated equal here whether they have 10 posts, or 10,000 posts.

You're not stirring the pot any, it was a good question. I think the real "Generals" on the board will be the Mods, but THE General will be TOW. As far changing the highest karma from "General" to "The Untouchable," you will have to take that up with TOW.

I do think that raising the post count to reach the last karma title would give it more "excitement" for longer, trying to obtain the last one...

You know, this is going to sound kinda funny coming from me, because I think it's funny coming from me. Why not have everyone re-memorize the UCMJ and have something like a promotion board where you have to answer a certain number of questions before you attain the next rank. Make it something you really have to work for. Make it parallel the real military rank promotion structure. Have cutoff points and everything. THAT would make it more interesting.

I was joking around about the Untouchable title. TOW is the Commander In Chief, but how about....Damn! I just saw a woman in a Hardees commercial stick her whole damn hand in her mouth!!! Do you know what she could do for me....OK, I'm in full blown lust now. Hehehe

Wow, that would be interesting!! That would be very cool actually. What would the people who aren't in the military do(like me)?? Study up on it anyway?? Haha, I don't know if you were joking about that too, but I really do think that would be cool!! Big Grin

Questions like: What's the maximum velocity of the M-16 .223 round? What's the maximum sustained fire rate of the M-16? What is the weight of the M-16? What's the correct round for the M-60 rifle? What is the weight of the M-60? What's the maximum sustained rate of fire for the M-60? How many seconds after the pin is pulled do you have before the Grenade is no longer your friend? How far from the tip of your collar does the rank and insignia go? What's your sixth general order?
Questions like that, that would test the military knowledge of the person seeking the next rank. Know what I mean? Unrealistic I know, but...

Why, of course civilians would have to study up! Can't get promoted unless you know what the hell you're talking about. If'n ya wants ta be military, ya gots to act military. If'n ya don't know military, how can ya acts military? LMAO

I'll tell ya one thing. It would be EXCELLENT for the "youngsters" like myself who are wanting to join the military to take part in something like that!!

What would happen if you don't get promoted after so long?? Would we kick them off the site like they kick you out of the military?? LMAO. Or at least take their posting privileges away until they are promoted to next rank. HAHA, I like the idea!! Cool

Cool, I'm not trying to come in and take over or anything. I'm just trying to make some constructive suggestions. I think at this time, it's too easy to make rank and it kinda takes away from it, if you know what I mean. At 10 posts you graduate basic training. At 20 you're a PFC. At 30 you're a Corporal.

I know I said I hate Basic Training, but I really don't think you should be elligible for graduation from BT until about 100 posts. Next rank would be more realistic at 200. Next at 300, so forth and so on.

I'm just making suggestions. You da MAN! I'm just da wa wa watta boy. No make dat a foo foo football playah. LMAO
