Hmmmm, I've been getting the senior discount for ages. My hair turned silver long ago, happened right after that 155mm shell landed 30 feet behind me during my stint as forward observer for 11th Marines. Still deaf in one ear, and once they got my right eye back in the socket I ain't too blind Eeker

Count it the greatest sin to prefer life to honor, and for the sake of living to lose what makes it worth living.

Gunny: I know a Marine who was in the artillery, he is also dyslexic. I will find out what units he was in. He has a T-shirt that says: "Dyslexics Untie."

Gunny, he was not with the 11th Marines, though he would not have had a problem with the numbers.

yeah, besides I already know exactly who and how it happened. There was a JAG investigation and it all came out. The gun crew had smoked their lunch that day and were pretty stoned. This was right after Nam, and pot smoking (among other things) was rampant back then.

gunny, you ever train at Ft. Sill? I've heard stories a few head of cattle got blown up there during FOT. Not you, of course.

Actually I did train at Ft Sill. Attended Fire Direction Training School there. I did use a battalion of 155mm howiters against a small herd of deer, but that was on the Camp Pendleton ranges......
