Belit- I was USN a long time ago but now am just a retired Civilan but until I moved back to the Mid-West the only friends I had remained USN don't understand Civilan habits guess it rubs off.

Belit-I am doing great I retired in 2001 from the Aircraft Industry now I am watching my Grand Kids grow up. I was a Engineman did service on Mine Sweepers did some time in the Gator Navy even did a couple of yrs. on a Big Gun Crusier spent a couple of years in Vietnam on the Gunboats .Went just about everywhere a Country Boy would ever want to go I now live in Southwestern Colorado just about 200 yrds from where I was born.My Grandfather had a big Ranch here in the early 1900s.

Yea, did the whole tank thing. When I joined, I was 11B, but I had signed up as a tanker. A recuiters game I guess. Got everything staighten out, did IAT as a grunt,spent a little over three years in Germany as a OJT'd tanker in the 70's and some time in the Colorado for the remainder of my hitch. Oldest daughter was a shooter on #4 waist catapult on the USS George Washington, she met her husband there. He has since went from fleet to a Seabee getting ready for his second tour to the sandpit. Where's the coffee? |
