My daughter is going in tomorrow. The baby's ready to go and the doc was leaving on a trip. She was due the 20th, but she wants her doctor to deliver.
Her mother is scrambling to get the early time off of work and shoot down there. She had taken next week off. This hit us yesterday. What the hey, a little excitement in life, no? We just had a member of our post come back from up north. He got hit in a roadside explosion and he is home now going through rehabilitation for some knee injuries. His second tour wasn't as lucky as his first. He should be ok, just don't know what the perm damage is.Haven't seen him yet. I remember SIL in my prayers to get home to you safely. Where's the coffee? |

Retired military after thirty-four years (only twenty-eight good for retirement). Looking forward to hearing military members' views of present state of affairs after listening too long on "strictly civilian" message boards.

Welcome all newbies, and for the old sweats, my apologies for being absent for a while, family duty called, and was well and truly answered.
Work, work and work, has kept me busy too, but also my work with UK vets returning home, and their families. PTSD and support councelling is now something that is becoming more apparent not only with service members, but also their families, who very often make the 1st steps. Other news, i am now very active on the PTSD forum, as a mod at mil.com, with Dave Barker, Scott ( Cherryread ), Alpha Dog, and RVpaulbear. I have visisted here often, and read the threads and topics, but this is the 1st chance i have had to post in some time. Missed you guys. Regards Mike Train Hard, Fight Easy. |

Hi there! This is the first time on this site, and I thought it may be a good one to ask for everyone's help.
We are in the process of putting together a book that will encourage, uplift, and give hope to our Military guys and gals and their families. If you are interested, please keep reading. Our question to you is this: What is the one thing that occurred or that you thought of while serving our Country that encouraged you or gave you hope? Here's some ideas to ponder before submitting your story: Did you tell yourself, "Now THAT'S why I'm in the Military!" Did someone or something touch your life and give you hope? Share this! Did you see someone do an extraordinary thing? What was it? Are you thankful for someone or something that happened? Why? We look forward to hearing from you! Please read story guidelines below, then: Email your story to: usmilitaryhope@yahoo.com or snail-mail to: S. Ahlgren, P O Box 820332, Vancouver WA 98682 Story Submission Guideline: 1. It is preferred that all submissions be sent via email or snail-mail. 2. Send only one copy of each submission. 3. We do not return submissions, so please keep a copy for yourself. 4. If you wish, please include a bio--a short paragraph about you (hometown, "words of wisdom", or anything else you would like included). 5. It could take a long time to gather these stories and put them into a book, so please be patient. 6. By sending in your submission, you give us permission to possibly include it in our book. 7. If you send an anonymous submission, we may print your story as well. We look forward to hearing your personal stories of inspiration, encouragement, and hope! Take care one and all! |

Welcome all.
I am a non-vet and the members here have made me feel at home. Enjoy the site and don't be shy about posting. If you hamper the war effort of one side, you automatically help out that of the other.
