This one too:

See No Evil: The True Story of a Ground Soldier in the CIA's War on Terrorism

http://tinyurl.com/htfp8

Though, his other book, Sleeping with the Devil was a little...."reaching" and I didn't like that one much.

This one is....OK. And he does trace back the Muslim Brotherhood quite a ways in it's hatred of the "all things Western".

More on the origins and beliefs of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Al Qaedaism and communism

Communism had Karl Marx. Al Qaedaism has Sayed Qtub. Who's he, most people would ask. The ideology that nurtured modern Islamic extremism, and spawned every violent movement from Hezbollah to al Qaeda, was born in 1952 when Qtub, an Egyptian writer, returned from studying American literature at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo.

Good article.Iespecially like this line;[QUOTE]
The main enemy is "jahiliyya," or ignorance. Men believe they can decide in God's name, he says, and that's why "materialism dominates and manners and mores are bestial."
[UNQUOTE]
The hypocrisy is overwhelming.Muslem extremists believe THEY speak for Allah, and so can decide all things in Allah's name.

If you hamper the war effort of one side, you automatically help out that of the other. In practice, "he that is not with me is against me. "

Another often misquoted piece of the Koran relates to the "lesser jihad" (which is another one...) to "defend Islam from the infidels". The word used in Arabic (which escapes me now) actually means "polytheist" not "infidel". Last I checked both Christians and Jews had one god.

Both the Jewish and Muslim religions use their religious law to settle some issues. When a Muslim needs a quick check and cannot consult Muslim sources, he can get a reading from Jewish law to give him a general idea of how to proceed (he will latter check his own sources to be exact). I heard this from a Muslim scholar who stated that the three Abraham based religions have more in common that they do in differences. There is nothing worse than zealots using the name of God to kill people who do not agree with them.

Have our politicians lost their minds? Bin Laden based Al-Qaeda on the Muslim Brotherhood model. In some areas/circles discussing whether the MB and AQ are separate entities is considered a purely academic exercise! Some say there is no difference!

The Muslim Brotherhood's Duping of America

By Rachel Ehrenfeld and Alyssa A. Lappen

Making the Muslim Brotherhood a major player in Middle East politics seems to be one of the few subjects on which both Democrats and Republicans seem to agree. Neither the State Department nor the White House commented after U.S. House Majority Leader Stanley Hoyer met in Egypt with the Muslim Brotherhood's parliamentarian leader, Mohammed Saad el-Katatni. Hoyer and el-Katani discussed recent developments in the Middle East, and the "Brotherhood's vision."

This meeting took place just one day after the conclusion of the Muslim Brotherhood 5th Cairo Conference: The International Campaign Against US & Zionist Occupation, in which delegations from Hizbollah and Hamas took part. The participants cheered as Muslim Brotherhood General Guide Muhammad Mahdi 'Akef declared, "the devil Bush and his allies were now the ones sowing terror and aggression worldwide."

Akef's rant, translated from Arabic by MEMRI, blamed Bush for

"sending American youth to die by the thousands ...at the expense of the poor in the U.S. and across the world." His statement sounds similar to the claim of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid that "The president's policies have failed, and...[he] endangers our troops and hurts our national security."

While the Democratic leadership does everything possible to demonstrate their diplomatic acumen before the 2008 U.S. presidential elections, it is less clear why the Administration is also courting this radical Muslim organization. Indeed, both the Democrats and the Administration are playing right into the Muslim Brotherhood's hand, inadvertently supporting its propaganda offensive against the U.S.

Still more worrisome is the apparent dismissal by American political leaders on both sides of the aisle, of ongoing declarations and fatwas hostile to the U.S., issued by MB leaders since 9/11.

Frankly, long-term deployments also are causing severe mental break-downs (PTSD), marital problems and difficulties at home and abroad.
Yes, serving our country is of the utmost importance .. but feel strongly that we should have spent more time bombing the country at strategic points of interest, saturating the hot spots .. collateral damage anotherword .. than trying to please our politicians stateside ... our soldier's lives are far more valuable than that. Democracy in Iraq? Peace talks? Give me a break ... we don't have a democracy here so where does our government think we will create one there? Tell me, serving your country is one thing ... losing your family in the process .... strong decisions to be made for our men and women serving right now ... they are facing the brunt of the storm and more to come.

True, we have numerous folks in the field right now working in the background for developing new intelligence and new war strategies. That's why our upper Military Regime keep it classified .. there is no room for mistakes right now.

Another excellent article on mindset of "the enemy"...... I think the current term is "salafi jihadist". This is another very long read. Two short snippets below.

The Development of A Jihadist's Mind

by Tawfiq Hamid
Published on Friday, April 06, 2007
ARTICLES

What occupies the mind of a jihad-driven Muslim? How is such fervor planted in young and impressionable believers? Where does it originate? How did I—once an invernocent child who grew up in a liberal, moderate and educated household—find myself a member of a radical Islamic group? These questions go to the root of Islamic violence and must be addressed if free societies are to combat radical Islam. To further this aim, I will explore the psychological development of a jihadi’s mind through my own first-hand experience as a former member of a Muslim terrorist organization.
....................................................

Salafi teachings expressly forbid acting on sexual desire. They prohibit a man from touching any woman or even looking at one. Speaking to a woman on a personal level is not permitted. To be alone with a woman without relatives present, it is believed, would “invite Satan to be the third person.” Women became for members of Jamaah, therefore, forbidden creatures. But while relations with women were strictly proscribed, the erotic passages in Salafi writings (see Appendix B) simultaneously aroused in us a powerful sexual desire. This dilemma led us to conclude that dying for Allah provided our only hope for satisfying our lust, because that lust could be satisfied only in paradise. It is not surprising that bin Laden and other terrorist leaders sent letters to their suicide murderers that described to them the Hur, or white ladies awaiting them in paradise.
