A mammothrept if I ever saw one.
On one hand you talk about God and on the other you want to kill thousands of innocent people. I wonder how you reconcile that moral dilemma? "It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it" DOUGLAS MacARTHUR, 1952 |

I actually did some research on that topic in the bible and going back to the original language the bible was writen in "murder" is actually the proper term for the 10 commandments. (ie I dont think its fair that you drive a nice car so I "murder" you) where as to kill would be in an act of self defense either personally or a nation as a whole. Of course when nations war there is always collateral damage, thats a fact of life, only God can perfectly discriminate.

Never heard of Navy Corpsmen and Navy Docs huh? More Medal of Honor and Navy Crosses awarded for thier staying with the troops when and where needed.
You still don't have anything but opinions. Opinions based on very little fact or basis. Marines have tons of respect for our pilots and our engineers...want to know why? BECAUSE they are right there with us. Each one of them carries a weapon and knows how to use it. Some days I feel that you were one of the prime reasons man invented condoms...... The reality of my situation with the guard is a fact. Other than that, yea it is my opinion, but my opinion is what I base my desisions on, like the desision to leave the military.
I dident know doctors and engineers went into the field. I think you are confused with military combat engineers and real engineers (ie degreed, potentially with a PE licence) and navy corpmen and real doctors (an MD and potentially residency). The military does view actual doctors with respect because they get direct commissions, where as they dont with pilots or real engineers hence no direct commission. |

We treat combat engineers and medics with more respect, because they are there with us, as Gunny said. Your degree amounts to nothing. Combat engineers and Medics/Corpsmen have more practical experience than the average physician. They just can't write a prescription. Spend a day treating wounds from the most horrific trauma man can create, it'll make the most experienced doctor wide-eyed not knowing what to do. High school graduates are treating blown apart people in the field. Not doctors.

HiJack,
Okey-Doke.
Wikipedia Entry: "In the months prior to the bombings, the Battle of Okinawa resulted in an estimated 50–150,000 civilian deaths, 100–125,000 Japanese or Okinawan military or conscript deaths and over 72,000 American casualties. An invasion of Japan was expected to result in casualties many times greater than in Okinawa." As a matter of fact, some estimates ran as high as 400,000 American casualties. Over 1 million in total casualties (including Japanese civilians).
Once again, quit talking when you KNOW NOTHING on the topic. |

I think I do know because im an engineer and I did not get a direct commission. And casulty numbers proved my point. Far less died from the 2 bombs than would have from a land invasion.

It is logical to see that the so-called "Project" is well under way. Has been for quite some time. It wasn't more than 4 months ago, the San Diego local news carried a story about a Non-Profit Group here, Islamic of course, that had financial dealings with several target Al-Qaeda members, and key influencers in the terror network spanning 6 countries, and several hundred people already on NRO/NSA watch lists.
With this "Brotherhood" working so delicately in the underbelly of the world to make this happen, it would seem they are losing ground. Supporting an aligned fight in three countries (Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan) would sap their money and power base, right? Manpower issues, strength management, logistics lines operating in ever more scrutinizing border security worldwide. It all seems to be going south for our towel-headed friends. Even though these determined little ankle biters will bring the thunder, they can't sustain it against the speed at which intel gathering is increasing, the automation in theater, technological advancements in giant leaps, etc. Their system will eventually buckle, especially with rapid opposition forming in Iran of the current caliphate by the younger generation. They've proved many times over that they don't even need nuke's to create world turmoil.
They do possess a very deadly and potent weapon right now, and it is something you use everyday. The Internet. This message has been edited. Good link Patolco. I wonder that I haven't heard or seen much on this document, but maybe I've been looking in the wrong places...like our mainstream media. Are there any other sites or links that ya would recommend?

Much of what I read is related to understanding how these guys work. In that vein, I'd recommend the Terrorist Training Manual.
